I explored You Tube & did find a couple interesting videos: Katie Coruic's Notebook. She had a short tribute to John Snyder, who passed away this past week. I assume she updates her notebook on a regular basis. I also watched Howard Dean talk about the Presidential Debate on You Tube. There is also alot of junk out there. I watched a boy trying to get his cat to skateboard!
I looked and listened to some podcasts. One was ABC News. I'm not sure if it was the whole newscast for that day or not, I did not watch the whole thing. I did find a library podcast relating to the playaways. It was audio only in a question & answer format.
I looked at Overdrive & Net Library. I think it is a great thing for housebound people or people who travel alot. They can access books from home or where ever they are. Of course you need high speed internet to access them.
My summary of 23 things: I have to admit, if it wasn't mandatory, I probably wouldn't have done it, but that said, I certainly did learn alot. I didn't even know most of this stuff existed. Some of it was very hard for me to grasp. I'm not sure how well I understand it now. At least if somebody asks me about flicker or blogs I will know what they are talking about. I am grateful for all the help from my co-workers. I wouldn't have gotten through a couple of weeks without you.

Week 8 Thing 19
I went to the Web 2.0 awards list. I explored Lulu a website where you can publish your own book, a picture, music, videos or practically anything you have created. You publish your work & they market it for you on their website. They in turn collect a small fee only if anyone buys your product. They will even market it with Amazon & Barnes & Noble. Seems like a great way for a budding author to get started. I'm not sure if there is any way for Libraries to use Lulu, but maybe.
I also explored Craigs list, which is a classifed website. You put in the city you are interested in & you can look for a job, houses for sale, apartments for rent, anything for sale. This would be a good tool if you were relocating to another city.

Week 8 Thing 18
23 Things
I'm just trying out Zoho writer for our lesson in 23 Things.

I made this document in Zoho Writer. It was just as easy as microsoft word, and even suprising to me I somehow posted it to my blog. I guess I am learning something!! I think this is great, no software needed, you can access your documents, spreadsheets, etc. from anywhere, and selected people can make changes and updates.
P.S. Guess I don't know as much as I thought, somehow I got my document on twice!! Oh well, better than not at all.

Week 7 Thing 16 &17
This was the easiest week for me yet!!
I like the concept of wikis, and think they could be very useful to alot of organizations. Maybe a library would have to restrict editing to certain people or certain areas of their wiki. Wikis seem very user friendly, obviously if I understand it anyone can!!!
I added my blog to the Sandbox Wiki. Here again very user friendly, I had no trouble.
I also added an entry about my favorite vacation spot.

Week 6 Things 13,14,&15
I looked around Del.icio.us, It seems like another way to bookmark or do favorites, except you have access to alot of other peoples favorites and they can access yours. Maybe I don't get the whole concept.
Technorati was overwhelming to me. I did find someone's 23 Things Blog when I searched"Learning 2.o". There seemed to be alot of different things under one tag name.
Library 2.0 will probably continue to evolve & could be quite useful.
